The NFL Regular Season: Top and Bottom Performers

As Week 12 of the NFL regular season comes to a close, we are slowly getting closer and closer to the playoffs.

Many teams are doing well, while others are shockingly underperforming.

However, two teams stand out the most – the Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Jets.

First, the Steelers have been having an overall fantastic season.

They got out of Week 12 with another win and are currently the only undefeated team in the NFL, not losing a single game thus far.

Some blame it on their somewhat easy game schedule, while others believe it’s due to the team and coaching staff.

Yet, many people still believe that even though the Steelers haven’t lost a single game, they are still not the best team in the NFL currently.

The Steelers barely escaped with a win against the Baltimore Ravens on Wednesday, December 2nd.

“We make no excuses. We seek no comfort. We didn’t play well tonight,” said head coach of the Steelers, Mike Tomlin.

Even Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers quarterback, said to reporters,

“I don’t know. I don’t want to make excuses. We just weren’t good – good enough at all.  We won today, but it doesn’t feel like it.”

The team that seems to pose a threat to the Steelers is the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs, despite having a single loss, have been playing stunningly these past weeks.

Their offense is impressive, having quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

In this past game, the Chiefs beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-24.

Mahomes threw for a total of 462 yards and threw for a total of three touchdowns.

Tyreek Hill then had a spectacular game, with 269 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

The Steelers and Chiefs show how the team with the best record isn’t always the best in the league.

Now, for the bottom of the NFL – the New York Jets.

Leading into Week 12, the Jets hadn’t won a single game and were 0-10.

They then lost to the Miami Dolphins, 20-3, in Week 12, making their record 0-11.

Overall, the Jets have no strengths this season, with their quarterback, Sam Darnold, being completely underdeveloped.

Looking at the rest of the Jets’ schedule, there seems to be no other team that they have the potential of beating.

This means that we may see the New York Jets end the season with an 0-16 record.

You can’t help but feel bad for them.

So while there might be debate over the best team in the league, there isn’t debate over the league’s worst team.

Football fans across the country are excited to see how the season wraps up.

Will the Steelers go undefeated?  Will the Jets win a game?  We can only hope this season ends with some surprises.
